Claude Barras

After obtaining his illustration diploma at the Emile Cohl School, Claude followed anthropology classes and digital images at the Lumiere University in Lyon. In 1999, back in Lausanne, he specialized in 3D infographics at ECAL.

Following his studies, he founded the collective Hélium Films with his friend Cédric Louis, for which he produced a dozen animated short films, selected and praised at numerous festivals.

In 2013, Claude begins the making of his first feature film, My life as a courgette, co-written with Céline Sciamma. Three years later, the film premiers at the Director’s Fortnight. My life as a courgette has since counted more than a million entries, around seventy prizes including two Cesars and the EFA European Prize. It was also nominated at the Oscars in 2017.

Claude will shoot his second feature film, SAVAGES! In 2021.
