AR EXHIBITION — RE/MEMBER YOUR DESCENDANTS
Original creation — Xabiso Vili, Sonwabo Valashiya — 2021, AR exhibition (ZA)
If you were an ancestor, what would your descendants call upon you for? Through a series of interviews with various South Africans, Xabiso Vili, in collaboration with Sonwabo Valashiya, brings the spiritual plane into the physical space. Utilising AR, the interviewees are illustrated as their ancestors and their stories are told through poetry. This AR exhibition tells African stories in a way that they have never been seen before.
FILM 180° — PORTRAITS OF AFRICAN CITIES
Original creation — 2021, film 180°, video time-lapse
Abidjan, Cotonou, Kigali, Algiers, Johannesburg… Feel the vibes of some African cities – as modern as plural – through ten time-lapse videos on a 180° LED screen, inspired by the work of Beninese photographer Mayeul Akpovi.

“Portraits of African Cities” extended experience with an augmented photo exhibition. Across the continent, African megacities are revealed as you have never seen before.
CONCERT — NIX
NIX is a Senegalese rapper with a very contemporary orchestration. He will mix music with digital effects and set the stage on fire for an unmissable performance.
Nicolas Omar Diop aka Nix is a senegalese rapper, born and raised in Dakar. He started his solo career in 2003, releasing his first studio album “Black Crystal” that had a huge success in the French-speaking countries of West Africa.
Nix is also the co-founder of the pan-African streaming platform Deedo, the digital distribution platform Deedo Distribution and Deedo Dakar Studio, a recording studio and creative hub based in Senegal.
CONCERT — AIDA SOCK AND THE DREAM TIME
Aida Sock was born in Niger, raised in Senegal and junggles between soul, hip-hop and Afro-modern rhythms. With her band, the Dreamn Time, she will close the festival by mixing music with digital effects, setting the stage on fire for an unmissable performance!
FILM 180° — KANDAKA AND THE BLACK PHARAOHS
Original creation — Ainslee Alem Robson, 2021, film 180°
Designed specifically for 180° LED screen, this film is a tribute to Amanirenas, a one-eyed warrior Kandaka known for defeating Roman forces.
PERFORMANCE — EVE, DANCE IS AN UNPLACEABLE PLACE
Dance and VR — Margherita Bergamo, Daniel González
A contemporary dance performance based on embodied virtual reality films, experienced through a ritual of dance. Eve is the meeting between the virtual and the real, to awaken the sensations of displacement.
