The winners of NewImages Festival 2021

NewImages Festival, at Forum des images, announced on Friday June 11, the 7 winners of the 4th edition!

Located a at the center of Paris, NewImages Festival celebrates the digital creation and virtual worlds multiplicity, with an international program composed with the groundbreaking immersive works and experiences

The NewImages Festival awarded seven Prizes, symbolizing the diversity of the selected works

XR Competition

The “Masque d’Or” (Grand Prize) €6,000

We Are at Home

Michelle Kranot, Uri Kranot – Late Love Production (DK), Floréal Films, Miyu Productions (FR), National Film Board of Canada(CA)

This multi-user installation is based on the poem The Hangman at Home (C. Sandburg) and explores the theme of acknowledgement and the awkward intimacy that comes with being humain.

Get inside a “reeducation” camp in China, guided by the recollections of three men who were caught in what is likely the largest mass-internment of ethnic and religious minorities.

A pop-up book whose drawings and paper volumes are the decor of a story, visible in AR. Drawings and folded paper reveal the virtual life of a woman, a man, a house. It is a dive into the imaginary realms of water.

Lights! Is An Interactive, Immersive Virtual Reality Tour Offering An Exploration Of Light Through The Ages, From The 16Th-Century Candle Lantern To The 21St-Century Led. A Series Of Wordless Tableaus, Accompanied By A Wealth Of Sound Effects, Leads Visitors Through A Journey In Nocturnal Time, From The Late Middle Ages To The Connected City.


Taiwan VR Residency

The creation residency is renewed for the 3rd year in a row and opens from now to all extended realities. This 6 to 8 weeks-long residency in Kaohsiung follows a creator in his/her project development. He/she will notably benefit from an endowment of €10,000. In partnership with the Kaohsiung Film Festival and the French Office in Taipei.

Mathieu Pradat – La Prairie Production (FR)
