XR3, a virtual exhibition
NewImages Festival, Cannes XR and Tribeca festival join forces to create XR3: the virtual exhibition of the best of virtual reality creation!
In order to fully democratize access to virtual reality and to immersive creation, NewImages Festival, Cannes XR and Tribeca Film Festival are teaming up to co-produce a new virtual space: XR3, a unique exhibition platform to present the best of VR creation.
“We are very proud of NewImages Festival’s association with two events as prestigious as Cannes and Tribeca! This approach is fully in line with our strategy of bringing together and federating a whole range of key partners around the world in order to promote a common and unbounded access to XR creation, to the benefit of the works, the artists, and of course, the audiences.” underlines Michael Swierczynski, director of NewImages Festival.
A unique exhibition in terms of its stakes and its reach, it will bring together around fifty works in virtual reality including many world premieres, resulting from the expertise and curation of each event to explore the field of immersive arts.
The three selections of these three events are to be discovered at the Museum of Other Realities (MOR) from June 9 to 20, a virtual exhibition space with inventive scenography, specially designed for the occasion. The entire program will be available via the MOR app for download from June 9 on Steam and Viveport. All the works will remain in free access 24 hours a day until June 20. The MOR will also be accessible from July 6 to 17 with one offer per event.
With this unprecedented partnership, NewImages Festival, Cannes XR and Tribeca join forces in order to fully democratize access to VR and to immersive creation. Thanks to its hybrid dimension and to its various modes of access, the platform thus offers the works presented a worldwide influence and an outreach to all audiences thanks to a satellite network.
People with a VR headset will be able to enjoy online access, through the MOR app, or on the platforms Steam and Viveport.
On the other hand, everyone will be able to enjoy the selections directly in the context of these three events but also thanks to satellite venues network, partners deployed across the world and in which dedicated VR stations will be set up;
Journalists, professionals, and the general public will be able to experience the exhibition according to the modalities that fit them and wherever they are!
